Origen Channel Telepacífico is Colombia’s first public television channel dedicated entirely to ethnic content. The channel was officially launched on August 12, 2019, with support from Colombia’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (MinTIC). Origen Channel focuses exclusively on programs produced within the communities themselves. Its content includes documentaries, reports, interviews, discussion programs, and live broadcasts of cultural events, all reflecting daily life, identity, language, and social and environmental issues relevant to ethnic groups in Colombia.
The channel mainly serves Colombia’s Pacific region, including Valle del Cauca, Chocó, Cauca, and Nariño. Through its programming, Origen Channel supports cultural preservation, strengthens community voices, and promotes diversity within public broadcasting.
